School trip & class trip

Discover the city with your class — on a mission, in teams.

Looking for an original school trip where students can discover the city together, solve puzzles and work towards a mission? During an Escape Xperience, students head out in small teams. They follow a story through the city via the app, solve challenges and work together to find the final location.

Suitable for the upper years of primary school, secondary education and student groups. Great for a school trip, excursion or introduction activity — and several Xperiences fit with the historical periods covered in history lessons.

History along the way

Which Xperience fits your lesson programme?

Every Escape Xperience has a story based on historical people, events and locations. In Breda, for example, students help Willem van Oranje while Alva’s army is approaching; in Maastricht, they discover more about the Roman past; and in Zwolle, they find themselves in the middle of the conflict between the patriots and supporters of Willem V. Filter by historical period or city.

Outside the classroom

The city as your classroom

During an Escape Xperience, students learn by doing: solving puzzles together, making choices and discovering history in the place where it really happened. What they solve together sticks with them — and afterwards, they see their own city differently.

Frequently asked questions about school trips

What ages is Escape Xperience suitable for?

Escape Xperience is suitable for the upper years of primary school, secondary education and student groups from vocational colleges, universities of applied sciences and universities. The same Xperiences are played by both children and adults: the tasks are accessible, but they are not designed to feel childish.

How many students should play in one team?

We recommend 2–4 students per team. With four students, everyone can stay actively involved in the game. Larger teams are possible, but not every student will necessarily be involved in every puzzle.

How much supervision is needed?

That is up to your school, based on the students’ age and independence. Teams play via the app on their own phone and follow the game independently. With younger students, teachers or parent helpers can accompany the teams.

Can we follow the teams during the game?

Yes. With four or more teams, the group upgrade is added automatically for an extra €5 per team. This allows you to follow the teams live on the map during the game.

Does every student need a phone?

No. You need one smartphone per team with the free Loquiz app installed. The phone needs an internet connection and GPS.

Can all teams start at the same time?

Yes. If you want the teams to solve the puzzles as independently as possible and perhaps compare their results afterwards, we recommend leaving a few minutes between each team’s start time.

How long does an Escape Xperience take with a class?

An Escape Xperience takes around 2 hours on average (around 2.5 hours in Maastricht). There is no strict time limit: once you start, you have a total of 12 hours to complete the Xperience. This gives students plenty of time to play, take breaks and continue at their own pace.

Is Escape Xperience an educational school trip?

Escape Xperience is not a teaching method, but history is an important part of the games. The stories are based on historical people, events and locations, and several Xperiences tie in with the historical periods covered in history education.

Can we request a quote first?

Yes. You can request a free quote with no obligation. It is generated immediately, and if you decide to book afterwards, the details from the quote can be carried over into your booking.

How much does a school trip with Escape Xperience cost?

An Escape Xperience costs €25 per team. We recommend 2–4 students per team. From 4 teams onwards, the group upgrade is added automatically for an extra €5 per team. Example: a class of 24 students playing in 6 teams pays €150 for the Xperiences + €30 for the group upgrade.

Can schools pay by invoice?

Yes, school bookings can be paid by invoice.
